In case you were beginning to miss dear Lindsay, here's some good news for those of us who believe that the blonde disaster got off too easily when sent to trial earlier this year. No, don't get too excited - she has at least managed not to run over anyone with her car, and there were no drugs found in her pockets (I suspect the last part is because she has learnt her lessons and just snorts them all before anyone can search her). No, this time it's a ghost from LiLo's past that's come back to haunt her.
The accusations come from a guy named Raymundo Ortega, who claims that darling Lindsay (who is now 21) hit his van with her Mercedes in 2005. Ortega has been claiming for two years that Lohan was drunk when the accident happened (she was 19 at the time), which would have meant even more trouble for our favorite celebrity - only in the spirit of celebrity justice she was cleared of all charges.
Ortega actually claims that the star was trying to escape photographers and was drunk when the accident happened. He even found a waiter at a nearby bar to testify that he had allegedly sold booze to Miss Lohan, but traffic police concluded at the time that it was in fact Ortega who had caused the accident by making an illegal U-turn. And now, two years later, an LA court gave him the all-clear to take LiLo to court and has set a trial for April next year.
So, Lindsay darling, just in case you were getting too cozy and comfortable in rehab, just in case you felt rehab sex and rehab drugs were too good a thing and you were in the process of forgetting you were once about to go to jail, it's wake up call. This guy wants 125,000 in compensation plus his medical expenses covered - and it sounds like he means business. On a different note, it will be interesting to see if Lindsay will manage to screw with the system again and get away with it all.
"This case is about responsibility and she's not taking responsibility", claimed Ortega's lawyer, Robert G. Klein. Predictably, Lohan's attorney denied his client was drunk - but really, when it comes to her, it's really a question of "exactly how drunk was she?" rather than "was she drunk?". Looking forward to see how she'll manage this time - and maybe we will get to see how she looks in orange. One day, those prayers will be answered - or so I hope.
