Regardless of what she does, Lindsay Lohan never ceases to fascinate and intrigue. To many, she’s a very talented actress who almost threw it all away on drugs and parties but to a select few, including Lindsay herself, she’s God’s gift to Hollywood.

This might sound mean but, if you’ve read or watched enough Lindsay interviews, you too know already that she’s never to blame for the troubles she gets herself into. And, when things really take a turn for the worse, she can’t stop lamenting about how unfair life is to her.

Like when she almost landed a part in “The Avengers.” On the latest episode of her OWN docuseries “Lindsay,” produced by Oprah Winfrey, who also acts as Lohan’s mentor, the legally troubled actress complains about how she was en route to getting the break of a lifetime – but stopped thisclose to it because of her manager.

According to Lindsay, had her manager pushed the matter further with Marvel, she would have been on board the biggest superhero franchise of the day, which, in turn, would have taken her out of the uncertain financial waters she’s currently swimming in and ensured her acting comeback.

Alas, it didn’t happen and, because said manager didn’t give it his best, the part went to an “unknown.”

“If I don't work in a film, he passes it to Vanessa Hudgens; he passes it one of his other clients. Every day I'm not on a film set, I'm wasting my talent because that's what I was born, and live, to do,” Lindsay says on the docuseries, as quoted by MTV News.

Now, if you have a closer look at the cast of “The Avengers” and you do some math, you realize that she can only be talking about the role of Maria Hill, Nick Fury’s second in command, played by Cobie Smulders.

The Marvel universe isn’t exactly packed with female characters and, of those that do stand out, they’re played by big names like Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts). Smulders isn’t really an “unknown” but, by Lohan’s standards, her role on “How I Met Your Mother” and her other appearances might not count for much.

So far, Lindsay Lohan has always found a way to get her name linked to some of the biggest box office hits out there. For instance, at one point, she was said to be very “upset” she didn’t get a part in the Oscar-winning “Black Swan,” which she believed she should have landed; to have turned down a role in “The Hangover” and to have auditioned for Mary Jane in “Spider-Man.”

Saying she almost made it in “The Avengers” takes the cake though.
