Linda Hogan claims she was victim of domestic violence during marriage to Hulk Hogan

Linda Hogan, the ex-wife of wrestling champ Hulk Hogan, is making a series of very disturbing allegations about her former husband: now promoting her book “'Wrestling the Hulk: My Life Against the Ropes,” Linda tells Matt Lauer she often feared for his life.

It’s no secret that the Hogan divorce turned very nasty in almost no time, with accusations flying in from both sides. In fact, it’s probably one of the most bitter divorces in showbiz, as Lauer also notes.

See video of the interview below, embedded at the end of the article.

Hulk may have believed all that was in the past, but the can of worms has just been reopened with Linda going on the record saying he would often beat her up and threaten her with bodily harm.

“He tore my shirt. He threw lamps. He held me down on the bed with his hands around my throat during arguments, slamming doors, pounding walls. I was always afraid he would kill me in one of his rages,” Linda writes in the book.

Asked by Lauer whether she stands by the claims she made in the book, Linda holds her ground: even after all this years, she still has the right to speak up and have the truth out there.

“He did not feel remorse. And to this day he hasn’t apologized for any of his actions,” she says, arguing that she believes some of Hulk’s aggressiveness was caused by taking too much medication and narcotics.

“I was quiet. I was afraid to say anything. Had I said something, the carpet would have been pulled out from underneath his career... It’s scary. You don’t know how far they will go,” Linda says when pressed by Lauer with questions of why she didn’t speak about the alleged abuse before.

“I didn’t want to add fuel to the fire,” she says, explaining why she didn’t make these revelations when she filed for divorce in 2007.

As for the reason she’s doing it now, Linda stresses that she’s not badmouthing her ex for money, but because she wants to help other women out there who might be in the same situation she was years ago.

“There are a lot of women out there in the world that are going through the same thing that I went to. If they can learn something from what I wrote, I hope I can help people,” she says.

As expected, Hulk isn’t wasting any time in shutting down all claims of domestic violence made by his ex. In a statement to TMZ, the wrestling champ calls Linda “delusional,” saying she’s just trying to promote her book by piggybacking on his name.
