A short while ago, model Linda Evangelista confirmed (of sorts) that the father of her 4-year-old son was none other than Salma Hayek’s husband, billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault. She’s now asking for $46,000 a month in child support from Pinault. As we
also reported a month ago, Evangelista went to court to ask Pinault to own up to his responsibilities and contribute to raising 4-year-old Augustine.
Word online has it that Pinault, the owner of the French conglomerate that owns Gucci, Bottega Veneta and Yves St. Laurent, had an affair with Linda while he and Salma were on a break, resulting in a child.
His daughter with Salma was conceived only a few months later, when they probably reconciled.
Linda says he never paid a dime for the child and that it’s high time he should do so. The Manhattan Family Court heard both sides yesterday,
The New York Post writes, including Linda’s request for $46,000 a month in child support.
If the amount seems too much for a 4-year-old, it’s because he’s the offspring of two very high profile people, Linda’s rep argued in court.
Augustine needs armed chauffeurs, bodyguards and nannies around the clock, and they have to paid for their services, an attorney for the supermodel pled with the judge.
Evangelista also asked the judge to award her $7,000 a month in “vacation” expenses, a claim that the judge has already thrown out.
The other claims have been refuted by Pinault’s lawyer.
“She testified that she wants to have a 24-hour nanny because she does not want to be alone with the child... Miss Evangelista, you should understand, has a worth of more than $8 million, and she earned, last year, $1.8 million,” the attorney told the court.
For the time being, a decision has not been made yet. It’s believed to be announced next month, when both parties will meet again in court.
“That would probably be the largest support order in the history of the Family Court,” Support Magistrate Matthew Troy says of the amount Evangelista is asking for.
