This is an anniversary edition celebrating nine years of existence

LinHES (Linux Home Entertainment System), a distribution loosely based on ArchLinux that centers around MythTV designed for Home Theater PCs (HTPC), is now at version 7.4.

LinHES 7.4 is an anniversary edition, marking nine years since the release if KnoppMyth R1.

The developers have provided some simple commands for users who already have a previous version of LinHES installed. Just open a terminal and enter the following commands:

sudo sv stop frontend sudo pacman -Sy linhes-scripts sudo upgrade_linhes.sh

Highlights of LinHES 7.4:

• Back-up DVD was removed from MythTV, but has been introduced back in this distro; • netcat has been added to the repositories; • transmission-cli has been updated to the most current version; • MythTV has been updated to 0.25.2; • RipD was added to the distribution; • HandBrake has been updated to version 0.9.8.
