Publisher Electronic Arts has announced that the upcoming Sims Medieval life simulation title is getting a Limited Edition package that will allow gamers access to all new exclusive content when the game launches during the month of March 2011.

The Limited Edition will also be released during spring of next year and will allow gamers to get exclusive access to three new throne rooms based around themes like Barbarian, Dark Magic and Princess concepts.

The package also includes two exclusive outfits for player made characters, one based around the idea of royalty, with full regalia offered, and one based around the character of the Executioner, with an intimidating black hood fit for a man who takes the lives of others.

The Sims Medieval is a spin off from the modern day set main Sims franchise and will allow the gamer to go back in time and simulate the life of a Westerner living in a stylized version of the Dark Ages.

Players will have the chance to go on quests, acquire new skills and create their very own kingdom where they can dispense judgment on their subjects.

Players will be able to customize the appearance and the skills for the characters that show up in their kingdom and will need to manage them as they go about their days, tending the fields, creating weapons or building a new tower for the player controlled castle.

The Sims Medieval is a new direction for the long-running Electronic Arts series and it is developed in parallel with new expansion packs for The Sims 3, like Ambitions and Late Night.

Scott Evans, who is the general manager working on the new Sims game, stated, “With the Limited Edition version of The Sims Medieval, we are giving players several great bonuses for being among the first to experience our new standalone franchise within the world of The Sims.”
