I'll be the first to note that a lot of gold is used in electronics, especially when making important connectors and such, but really, making a cooler out of the material is going a bit far.
Zotac doesn't share that opinion though. Or maybe, now that it is celebrating its sixth year, it feels that going a bit over the top is warranted.
Whatever the reason, the Limited-Edition GeForce GTX 770 Zotac graphics card has come into existence.
Shipping with 1137 MHz GPU frequency, 1202 MHz GPU Boost capability and 2 GB of 6208 MHz GDDR5 VRAM, it is totally wrapped in gold.
The metal cooler shroud, upper-side VRM heatsink, and back-plate are all made of gold-electroplated metal with chrome accents.
So at least it's not all gold, so it's not as extravagant as it looks like, but still quite over-the-top. I can tell that the targeted consumers will love it. There's always someone eager to get their hands on these limited-edition, collector's items.
