The latest diesel-electric hybrid French goodie coming from Peugeot seemed to have aroused customers to the point that all units sold out within three days from launch, as the automaker gloats, with deliveries scheduled to take place in spring 2012.

The model in question is the Peugeot 508 RXH Limited Edition, of which just 300 units have been made available across 12 European countries, both in the dealer network and on the Internet.

The countries lucky enough to get it included Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom and Switzerland.

What makes the limited edition version so special are Copper metallic paintwork, Lama leather and Alcantara upholstery, Peugeot Open & Go system, Xenon headlamps, motorised tailgate and electric powered, heated and memory position seats.

It also features front parking aid, automatic quad-zone air conditioning, JBL Hi-Fi and distinctive Attila 18" alloy wheels with every car carrying an individually numbered plaque.

Under the hood we find the same powertrain propelling the standard version of the model, namely the 2.0-litre HDi FAP HYbrid4 diesel engine developing 163bhp driving the front wheels and a 37bhp electric motor driving the rear axle, and a maximum torque of 450 Nm (332 lb.ft.). What’s more, emissions are no higher than 107 g/km CO2 in mixed cycle.

In terms of design, the 508 RXH comes bearing distinctive LED daytime running lights that give an impression of having three vertical 'lion claws' on each side of its 'floating' grille, according to Peugeot.

This way, customers who will get to put an example of this limited edition series in their garage will get a glimpse at the 508 RXH, as the special models will be the first ones delivered.

Standard equipment on the 508 RXH include lectric front seats, head up display, panoramic glass roof, dark-tinted acoustic laminated side windows, head up display, and the latest generation audio and satellite navigation.
