The most popular iOS jailbreak tool at the moment, Limera1n by geohot, has been welcomed by the jailbreak community, even though the competitive hacker only had a Windows version ready on launch. Today, however, a Mac-ready build is immediately available for download.

Those rocking a Mac and an iDevice that’s just begging to be jailbroken can now visit limera1n.com and download the Mac version of the tool.

As with the Windows build, Mac users simply connect their device to the computer, launch the Limera1n application, click the “make it rain” button in Limera1n’s interface, follow the on-screen instructions to enter DFU mode, and allow the tool to finalize the jailbreak.

Once the iPhone / iPod touch / iPad reboots, the user will tap the Limera1n icon (which may appear blank at first), on their home screen. From there, they install Cydia, the online repository for unapproved, third-party apps, and also have the option to uninstall Limera1n itself, since it’s no longer needed at this point.

In related news, the Chronic Dev Team also released its delayed Greenpois0n tool which works pretty much the same as geohot’s Limera1n, in that it jailbreaks a device in a few simple steps by having it tethered to a computer.
