Rapper Lil Wayne is in critical condition at a Los Angeles hospital, where he was rushed just hours after being discharged. He’s had more seizures and has been placed in an induced coma until doctors can figure out what’s triggering them, it has emerged.

As we also reported the other day, the rapper was hospitalized after suffering a series of seizures while shooting a new music video.

It was the second time in a period of just a few months that he needed medical attention for this problem.

Hours after he checked in, he was discharged. A few more hours later, he was back in the hospital again, this time in a worse condition than ever before, TMZ has learned.

“This time he did not stabilize. He was taken to ICU, where he was placed in restraints because he was shaking uncontrollably,” the celebrity publication writes.

Wayne, family and friends are all at the Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.

“We're told Wayne is currently ‘unstable,’ and has been placed in an induced coma. He is breathing through tubes,” adds the same report.

Apparently, the rapper was found in his room, collapsed on the floor and unconscious by a bodyguard who became worried that he wasn’t coming up. Codeine overdose might have played a part in triggering the seizures.

“Sources say there's evidence Wayne went on a Sizzurp binge after being released Wednesday, because doctors found high amounts of codeine in his system. We're told Wanye's stomach was pumped 3 times to flush the drugs from his system,” TMZ writes.

In an update to the post, the celebrity publication says that the rapper remains in critical condition but is believed to be on the mend.

The oddest part about the report is this: several hours ago, Lil Wayne tweeted, “I'm good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love,” which is terribly confusing since he’s believed to be in a coma.

Then again, it could be that someone from his management team tweeted that to try and offer fans some hope.

Stay tuned here for updates.
