14 DAY TRIAL // A couple of weeks ago, word spread like wildfire that rapper Lil Wayne was in such a critical condition at an LA hospital that doctors had put him in an induced coma until they figured out what was wrong with him. In a new interview, Lil Wayne explains he suffers from epilepsy.
The rapper was hospitalized several times after having seizures these past few months but, until now, he never talked about what was causing them.
This time, he’s doing it because he doesn’t want his fans to think that his most recent hospitalization had anything with a drug overdose, as some media outlets said.
“This isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures, ya’ll just never hear about them,” Wayne says in a radio interview cited by Gossip Cop.
“But this time it got real bad ’cause I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 percent. Basically, I could’ve died, so that is why it was so serious,” he adds.
He is usually surrounded by people who know what to do whenever he’s having a seizure but, until just now, they never saw him have 3 seizures in a row.
By the time they got him to the hospital, the rapper was already in critical condition, he explains.
“Certain times I don’t even go to the hospital, but this time, it was real bad because it was three in a row, and I’ve never had three back to back like that,” Lil Wayne says.
But drugs were not involved, regardless of tabloid reports.
“The reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest, overworking myself. That’s just typical me though,” he insists.
Lil Wayne is saying that he’s 100 percent ok now, as long as he makes sure he doesn’t put too much stress on himself.
