Lil Wayne and those closest to him probably had the scare of a lifetime the other day, when the rapper started having seizure-like symptoms and had to be rushed to the hospital.

Details on the rapper’s condition are very scarce right now, but TMZ reports that he started feeling sick while on his private jet.

Because it instantly became clear that the situation was serious, the jet made an emergency landing in Texas, where an ambulance picked him up.

“A source close to Weezy – real name Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. – tells us, right after the plane touched down... the rapper was transported to a local hospital to get treatment on Thursday afternoon,” TMZ reports.

“We're told Wayne was at the hospital for several hours... he checked out around 6 PM local time. It's unclear if doctors made an exact diagnosis – but we're told Wayne is ‘doing better’,” the same media outlet notes.

As of now, there’s no official word on what could have prompted the seizure or whether it was as serious as it sounds in the original report.

A publicist for the rapper was not immediately available for comment when news broke, but rest assured you’ll find out about it here when he does.

Lil Wayne most recently made headlines when his legal battle with Quincy Jones III over the documentary “The Carter” took a turn for the nasty.

Wayne is suing him for unauthorized use of his music in the film, which ironically details the making of his 2008 album “Tha Carter III” and for which he initially gave his ok, agreeing to have cameras around almost 24/7.

His depositions in the lawsuit emerged online a short while ago and instantly went viral, as we also reported at the time – mostly because Lil Wayne seemed “unable” to remember anything from that period in his life.
