Lil Wayne was Katie Couric’s first guest for the premiere of season 2 of Katie, and he made sure his interview would be one to remember. Below are just two segments from the chat they had, just to help you get an idea of what they talked about.

Just this year alone, the rapper was hospitalized a couple of times after suffering severe seizures, but the last time he was rushed to the hospital, there was even some talk that he might die.

Things were bad, that much is clear.

Wayne explains to Katie how he came to in such a state and reveals how his mother was instrumental in helping him get better.

In the second video embedded below, the rapper talks about his children and reiterates his decision to retire by 35 to spend more time with them.

No, your eyes are not deceiving you: Weezy actually wells up when she talks of his adorable, “firecracker” kids. This was definitely one emotional chat.
