Rapper Lil Kim has become a first-time mother. The 39-year-old star, who announced the pregnancy in February but is yet to officially confirm the identity of the father, believed to be good friend Mr. Papers, has now a little princess of her own.

And like any true princess, she has a name that few could easily forget.

“Lil' Kim welcomed her daughter at 9:58 a.m. EST in New Jersey. The newborn – named Royal Reign – weighed in at 6 pounds, 5 ounces, and measured 19.5 inches in length,” Us Weekly reports.

As celebrity babies names go, Royal is perhaps not the strangest of the lot. However, the combination of Royal and Reign is pretty unusual to have and has already generated lots of snickers on virtual corners. Which is to say, people are having a blast with the name, which they mostly deem very ridiculous.

As hard as she tried, Lil Kim didn’t manage to outdo stars like actress Uma Thurman, whose youngest daughter is named Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson, or reality star Shayne Lamas, who named her daughter Press Dahl Lamas-Richie.

As of now, these are all the details we have on Lil Kim’s brand new bundle of joy. Unconfirmed reports note that both the rapper and supposed baby daddy Mr. Papers are thrilled, which, obviously, is to be expected of parents, so it’s not actually news.

Us Weekly informs that the rapper’s good friend Jennifer Dalton was probably with her in the delivery room, considering that she said she planned to be there some time ago.

Also then, Dalton praised Lil Kim and said she would turn out to be a great mother, despite what some (many, actually) nay-sayers blabbered online about how she was the last person that should be entrusted with the care and education of a child.

“She's always wanted to have a child... She is very, very good with kids. She loves kids! And she's such a great godmother. She's my daughter's godmother; she has three godkids. That's how great of a godmother she is – everybody wants her!” Dalton gushed.

“She says she has like five midwives, and I'm one of the midwives. I'm going to be in there with her when she gives birth! She has a lot of good people around her, but there is only one person allowed in the room with her, and that's me!” the friend continued.

So this probably means Mr. Papers wasn’t there at the birth, assuming he’s the father. Though she’s usually very direct and never beats about the bush with anything, Lil Kim has played the whole paternity issue very coyly.
