
The controversial rapper was sentenced last September on charges of perjury and lying to a grand jury to a year and one day in prison. The crime consisted in the fact that Kim told the police and the jury that she didn't see two of her closest friends on the scene of a shootout that took place outside the radio station Hot 97 when, in fact, she too was there.
Kim's lawyers announced that she will be granted an early release on Monday, July 3, because she behaved excellently during her 10 months of imprisonment but that, nonetheless, she will have to spend the next month after that in house arrest.
Lil' will immediately start preparing for the promotion of her latest album, 'The Naked Truth' that hit stores a few weeks after she began serving her sentence. The artist also took the opportunity to extend her thanks, through her PR, to all her fans and the media that supported and comforted her during her stay in Philadelphia's Federal Detention Center.
