Midori, a lightweight web browser that features full integration with GTK+ and fast rendering with WebKit, is now at version 0.5.8.The new and improved Midori 0.5.8 has been released and comes with a large number of features and improvements, just like the previous build.
“As liked, fast and efficient our Adblock extension was, the original maintainer isn’t around anymore and flaws were accumulating on a code base that wasn’t very accessible anymore. So long story short Adblock is rewritten from C to Vala, several classes and files instead of one monolithic entity, plenty unit test cases and real whitelist support,” reads the official announcement.
Also, WebKit2 has been updated and the text selection behavior, favicons, and the support for multiple rendering processes have been updated. The spelling corrections are working again, two new extensions have been implemented (Ctrl+Enter to complete www. and .com and a notes panel), a new file type editor has been added, and more.
A complete changelog with all the fixes, changes, and new features can be found inside the source archive or on the official website. Download Midori 0.5.8 right now from Softpedia.
Despite the numbering used in the version by the developers, the browser is considered to be stable.
