Midori users should upgrade as soon as possible

Midori, a lightweight web browser that features full integration with GTK+ and fast rendering with WebKit, is now at version 0.5.9 and it should arrive in all the major repositories pretty soon.

The Midori browser is mostly known for the fact that it's very light and fast. Despite the version number, it has been integrated by default in numerous Linux distributions, including elementary OS. It has full HTML5 and CSS3 support and it comes with a lot of nice features, although it's still pretty far away from the heavy hitters like Firefox or Google Chrome in terms of options.

The developers have made a number of important releases until now and this latest one fits in the same category. The application is being updates pretty regularly, but the more users are trying in, the more issue are being reported. This is a rather small project, so developer have a limited amount of time to take care of all the issues.

The users of this Internet browser should upgrade the system as quickly as possible. It's a really important update, whick pack a lot of changes. It might take a while until it will reach the repositories, but you can always try and install the binary file.

The developers also explained that dead code has been removed from the browser and preferences, the "Add Bookmark" entry has been added to the menu, the the last web media tab played is now being stored, some memory leaks have been corrected, and the SpeedDial, Toolbar, and Bookmarkbar context menu items are now much more visible.
