Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII gets an official reveal trailer from Square Enix, with the team eager to give fans of the long-running Japanese role-playing game franchise as many reasons as possible to pick up the new adventure.

The new game uses the universe that is already well established by the development team, but makes major changes to the core mechanics and the themes, focusing on time and on change, detailing how they affect the entire world.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will be offered on both the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Xbox 360 from Microsoft.

Square Enix has not yet confirmed a launch date, but we expect Japanese players to get it during the first few months of 2013 and Western ones a few months later.
