Hardcore Thunderbird users, and even less addicted ones, are already familiar with Lightning, Mozilla’s extension for offering a calendar in their email client.

Lightning 1.0 has been introduced in Thunderbird 8.0 as an integrated add-on, back in November, 2011. However, a new edition, Lightning 1.2b1, is already available for download.

It is compatible with Thunderbird 10.0a1 through 10 and SeaMonkey 2.7a1 through 2.7. Out of all the fixes operated in this release, the most notable refer to updating timezones to 2001n, which is a benefit mostly for Russian users.

Another modification is that the latest version of the add-on should provide hooks to allow provider extensions to install an ACL Manager. Moreover, some of the fixes referred to the Chandler CalDAV Server.

The latest stable version of the add-on can be downloaded from this page
