Disney Interactive Studios has announced the Collector's Edition for the upcoming Tron Evolution, the light cycle based video game that will arrive on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and on the PlayStation 3 from Sony on December 7, a week earlier than the new Tron movie.

Players will also be able to pick up the video game on the Nintendo Wii, the PlayStation 2, the PC and the DS line of handhelds.

The newly announced package is quite an interesting one for fans of the universe as it will include, as the center piece, a fully modeled light cycle that has been made by Sideshow Collectibles.

Players will also get a display ready case that will shelter the light cycle from any potential damage and a disk version of Tron Evolution, which can also be housed inside the display case.

The only problem with the Collector's Edition is the somewhat high price tag of 130 dollars, which might put off some fans that will surely have the options of picking up the light cycle figurine stand alone after the release of the movie.

The video game is being developed by Propaganda Games and will reference some of the events that take place in the new movie while telling a story that can stand on its own and can be enjoyed by those who do not plan on seeing the new movie.

The main character of Tron Evolution will be a system monitor called Anion who has the ability to perform that same stylish combat moves seen in the trailer of the movie.

He needs to use his skills, his battle disk and a light cycle to destroy and to evade rogue programs that aim to remake the utopian world of Tron from the first movie into the dystopia which is explored in Legacy, set to arrive on December 17.
