Lifetime is making progress towards coming out with a film on Lady Gaga’s life

Get ready for Lady Gaga, the movie experience. Fresh reports suggest that Lifetime is eager to greenlight a brand new project, one that would document the life and career of the singer, and her incredible rise from anonymity to stardom.

Lifetime has been long considering the possibility of turning Maureen Callahan’s book, “Poker Face: The Rise And Rise Of Lady Gaga,” into film.

According to Deadline, it will do so shortly – but Gaga, sadly, is not involved in any stage of the process.

“Lifetime is developing Fame Monster: The Lady Gaga Story, a biopic of the famous pop star,” the movie-oriented publication writes.

“The project, named after Gaga’s 2009 EP, is being written by Norman Snider (Casino Jack) based on Maureen Callahan’s 2010 book Poker Face: The Rise And Rise Of Lady Gaga, with Ilene Kahn Power (Lifetime’s Who Is Clark Rockefeller?) executive producing,” the publication further says.

The film will aim to offer a glimpse into the life of the star, from the days she was just getting started in the industry to today, when she’s the biggest thing in pop music.

“Fame Monster chronicles the life of Stefani Germanotta, who started her musical career as a rocker and later was transformed into pop mega star Lady Gaga,” Deadline says.

“The project has been heating up at the cable network and could get a green light soon,” adds the publication.

In the meantime, Mother Monster herself may be getting ready to show her acting chomps, if we’re to believe reports.

Back August, shortly after Amy Winehouse’s death, word got out in the press that she’d been approached with an offer to star in a biopic about the tragic “Rehab” singer.

Admittedly, she was very interested in doing the project, since it would have offered her a double chance: of showing that she could act as well, and not just sing, and of paying the ultimate tribute to Amy, an artist for whom she had nothing but the nicest things to say.

So far, nothing else has been heard of the Winehouse biopic. Keep an eye on this space to see what becomes of the Lifetime film.
