Lifetime Asks: Gay, Straight or Taken?

The women's network Lifetime is already preparing to take all those single and lonely ladies out there by surprise with a brand new reality series called 'Gay, Straight or Taken?'. The show, produced by the same company that brought us hits like 'Deal or No Deal', 'Big Brother' and 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition', will focus on the female intuition, in an attempt to prove that it does exist and it does work... almost every time.

Basically, the producers will take a single woman and introduce her to three men: a married one, a gay one and a straight one. The contestant must then decide, after a couple of dates with each of the three men, which is which. The big prize will be given to her if she chooses the straight single guy. Otherwise - and here comes the twist - the prize will go to the man she incorrectly chose.

The series has already been scheduled to air on Monday, January 8th, and two half-an-hour episodes will run every week from 8.00 P.M to 9.00 P.M. Susanne Daniels, the president of Entertainment Lifetime promises the show will break all the ratings, because 'everyone believes they're masters at reading people' and this series proves exactly the contrary.

'I'm excited that we've found a new take on the popular reality dating show genre with "Gay, Straight or Taken?" And, for the record, I couldn't tell who was gay, straight or taken myself in the pilot! We're always seeking to bring relatable programming to audiences. This show really turns stereotypes on its head. It's a fun, wholly original spin on the dating show model, and I think Lifetime is the perfect place for this series.', she added.
