The Document Foundation has rolled out LibreOffice 4.2.2, the latest stable version of the group’s powerful productivity suite that offers apps for writing, spreadsheets, presentations, math, drawing, and database management.

Unlike traditional productivity suites, LibreOffice sports an extensive range of tools (apps) that can allow an office worker to achieve pretty much any task.

The included tools are Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Math, and Base – all specifically tailored to fit the needs of every type of user, from students to office workers.

LibreOffice 4.2.2 is the newest version available and it’s also a Final (Stable) release, which means you can rely on it not crashing and compromising your precious data. Of course, there’s no guarantee that won’t happen once in a blue moon, but the chances are slim.

So what’s new in LibreOffice 4.2.2, you ask? Well, you couldn’t pay me enough to try and decipher the release notes. The Document Foundation, for all its coding prowess, has a really hard time putting together a changelog that regular people can read without feeling stupid.

Especially when it says stuff like “wiki Publisher Extension is not working.” Is this supposed to be a bug fix or a known issue? I don’t know, and I don’t really care. I’m just here to let you in on the good news. Grab the software for your respective OS at the links below and enjoy.
