Rockstar, as the developer, and Take Two, as the publisher, have confirmed that a new piece of downloadable content for Western shooter Red Dead Redemption called Liar's and Cheats will be launched on the PlayStation Network and on Xbox Live on September 21.

The developers is also offering details on the new package, which is set to sell for 800 Microsoft Points, which is about 10 dollars on other platforms.

Rockstar says that the Liars and Cheats Pack is now set to include parts of the Free Roam Pack, which was initially set to arrive for free as a separate download but has been combined with the new release because of restrictions linked to content distribution on game consoles.

With the new DLC pack players will be able to enjoy both Poker and Liar's Dice in the multiplayer section of the game, relieving other less fortunate players of their money and creating personal rivalries.

Horse races are also added to multiplayer, with the options to use “mounted combat guns” to tackle rivals.

A new weapon is added in the form of the self explanatory Explosive Rifle and there are another seven gangs that players will need to hunt down and eliminate when they need some experience to level up.

Those who are more interested in killing animals than humans will also enjoy the new four hunting grounds.

A new multiplayer mode called Stronghold is also introduced by Rockstar, with teams taking turns on the defense and attack.

The Liars and Cheats Pack also adds 15 characters that can be used in single player, complete with new Achievements that players can earn.

Red Dead Redemption was one of the most successful launches of the first half of the year, managing to dominate sales charts and prompting developers to try and expand its life by adding DLC packs.
