Lian Li has been making computer cases for a long time and it definitely likes to make use of that experience whenever it builds a new products, such as the PC-C50, a small form factor PC enclosure that seeks to bring a measure of aesthetic value to Home-Theater Personal Computers (HTPCs).

The enclosure measures 445 (W) x 167 (H) x 325 (D) mm and, thus, can accommodate motherboards that use the Micro-ATX, Mini-DTX and Mini-ITX form factors.

The chassis also comes with enough space for three hard disk drives of 3.5 inches, which can be converted to fit 2.5-inch units as well.

The PC-C50 also boasts four expansion slots, and an external 5.25-inch optical drive bay. What's more, all HDD and ODD cages are modular and optimized for low levels of vibration.

In addition to these features, Lian Li's latest offspring is designed with a number of multimedia I/O ports, including three USB 3.0 ports, audio and eSATA.

Furthermore, the product has its own MS/SD card reader, as well as a pair of 120mm fans on the side and fan holes on the back and top, which make it possible to add an extra pair of such spinners.

The entire creation has a hair-line brushed anodized aluminum finishing and, thus, lacks sharp edges.

“The essence of Lian Li products is the craftsmanship of the engineering,” states the official press release.

“Intrinsic to the workmanship and quality is the customization which includes a whole host of optional extras that can be purchased to add more features to an already feature rich product,” the announcement adds.

The Lian Li PC-C50 should start shipping before the end of the ongoing month and will have a price tag of $189. What remains to be seen as how long it takes for HTPC makers to start using it.
