The new release comes with a lot of fixes and additions

Lexmark has just launched a new series of updates for its printers. The latest addition addresses the C746 laser printer. With this version, codenamed LHS30.CM2.P303, Lexmark adds support for its Secure Content Monitor application.

Other interesting changes that come with this firmware are the improved energy-savings and compliance with new regulations, the addition of Timed-Hibernate feature as well as support for scan-to-MRC compression for PDFs.

The list of issues addressed includes several translation and Text problems, “home” screen “disturbances” and various causes for 900.30, 900.43, 900.80 errors.

Inside the 176 MB package, you will find the full release notes (which are also available at the link below), a Windows firmware updater and the installation notes.

I advise any user to read the instructions before getting to the installation. A wrong firmware update procedure may brick the device, thus making a simple task a lot more complicated.

You can update your device through a Windows, Linux or Mac running machine, or by USB flash drive.
