A few days ago, Lexmark launched an update for its X5600 series. Now, it's the X6600 series’ turn to get a new driver. Version 2.2.8.1 will work well with Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8, 32-bit architecture only.

The same version driver for the 64bit OSes has already been online for some time.

The package contains the WHQL drivers and software needed to make full use of the printers, as well as local scan drivers for all supported data streams, OSes, and platforms.

The software that will install as soon as you launch the setup wizard will include Lexmark Printer Home, Phone Book, Lexmark Enhanced, Product update and Printer Setup Utility.

These applications will come in handy when you need to manage basic printer/scanner/fax operations or your fax contacts list. The Lexmark Enhanced utility will make it easy to create a link between the printer and a PC through its TCP/IP port.

For those out there that are new to this product, the Setup Utility will help you with the settings and make sure you're ready to make the most of your printer.

Below is the link to the drivers. Download according to your model number, install and stay “updated one minute ago.”
