Memory cards are nice and useful, but interfacing with PCs, especially desktops, can be a chore, so Lexar decided to do something about it.

Even though they may not support all types of memory cards, laptops have integrated card readers, mostly.

Desktops, however, don't usually have these things by default, so Lexar did the logical thing and made one that links via USB.

The product we are looking at now is called Professional USB 3.0 Dual-Slot Reader and, as its name says, has two card slots and SuperSpeed support.

In addition to SDXC, SDHC and SC cards, it handled SD-UHS-I and even Lexar's super-fast 1000X Series CompactFlash. The top transfer speed is 104 MB/s.

It should be noted that this isn't the first Professional USB 3.0 Dual-Slot Reader. The original dates back to May 2011, but had a slower UDMA mode variant for the CompactFlash bay.
