All women know that hair care is quite expensive as we spend a lot of money (and time) to have great hair, considering hair as a reflection of our style and general health. And it gets harder in winter time. Every time a woman feels the need for a change, she first does something to her hair. So we straighten, color, tease and perm, all that besides the regular products that we put into our hair to give it shine and health.
Those years of ironing, coloring, straightening or other chemical treatments leave their mark and cause long term damage. Find yourself in such a situation? If you do, then think of the saying "less is more" as it is completely true for hair too. The less you do to your hair, the healthier it will be. A first step would be to revive your hair by using natural products.
If you are the "proud" owner of
dry hair, then you must be very concerned. And I can relate to that. Let me explain you the cause of this. Dry hair occurs when the cells of the outer layer are roughed up or broken away, making the hair strand lose moisture and the power to reflect light as it should. The result: a hair that feels dry and what is worse is that it looks dry too. The main actions that lead to a dry hair are the coloring, perming and straightening as also is the exposure to sun and chlorine. Adding to that are the misuse/ overuse of blow dryers, curling irons and other styling products.
My advice is to first look for a shampoo that contains aloe, glycerin, honey, amino acids or natural oils for moisturizing. And as a conditioner, find one to provide the substances that help you restore the good quality that your hair used to have. If you do not succeed in doing that, you can always prepare your own. Such a recipe would look like this: 6 drops of lavender, bay and sandalwood essential oils mixed with 6 ounces of soy oil. Apply it on your hair section by section, cover with a towel and leave it like that for 15 minutes. Then, uncover and shampoo twice. Now, be careful with drying your hair. Many of us tend to rub our wet hair quite vigorously with a towel. Do not do that because in that moment, your hair is most delicate. Instead, gently pat the hair with a towel or squeeze the water from your hair. If you have flyaway or brittle ends, a few drops of sandalwood oil in a carrier oil like olive or jojoba might do the trick.

Now, about
oily hair…Oily hair appears when the sebaceous glands produce too much sebum and the hair shaft becomes coated and weighted down. The sebum production is related to hormonal changes and therefore, it is accelerated in puberty, pregnancy and menopause.
If you have oily hair, it's best to wash it in the morning as most of us tend to sweat during sleep. A recipe for a homemade shampoo would be: take 2 ounces of any unscented shampoo and add 4 drops of rosemary essential oil and 4 drops of lavender essential. Shake it well and then use a quarter size dollop. It is also important to apply conditioner to the ends only, and not to your scalp.
Although there are hundreds of commercial products out there that claim to have a solution for any hair problem, I think the natural way is the best.
You might also have problems with the growth of your hair. Some experts recommend a few treatment variants:
Seeds tea can provide your scalp with the health that it needs so much. They recommend Arimino's clay based scalp cleanser to be massaged onto the scalp and left on for 5 minutes. It eliminates chemicals and sebum and there's no need for conditioner to be applied afterwards.
Water treatment is a new concept that gives thicker hair because it fills it with moisture. It works like this: after purified water is applied to the scalp, an oxygen emitting tube is set around your head and as the time for the blood to circulate throughout the body is 8 minutes, a check is done to see if the water has been deposited after those 8 minutes have passed.
Phytophanere is a dietary supplement by Phyto that is made to help us improve the quality of our hair. You can concomitantly use Phytocyane, a revitalizing lotion, by applying it after shampooing and no rinsing is necessary.
As for
styling, the experts suggest you keep your hair shorter because it looks fuller. That makes sense, it's only logical that a longer hair would put some stress on the roots. Even though shorter, your hair mustn't be undercut. If you'll have your hair undercut, your volume will quickly disappear and you surely don't want that! Instead, keep your volume and fullness by having a graduated layering haircut.
These being said, remember to think positive, 'cause it indeed helps and your hair situation will be better. Be patient my dears!
