14 DAY TRIAL // The fact that a company files patent after patent is nothing out of the ordinary and has been happening since forever, with companies such as Apple or Samsung filing patents for all sorts of strange devices that might or might not have a foreseeable future.
One such example is Samsung's latest patent spree in which they reserved not one, not two but three speaker designs, a prettier backside for a future tablet, a new handset and – my personal favorite – a smartphone UI design.
There aren't many details regarding the patents, but taking in account that the new tablet design is especially designed to handle higher temperatures, they might be considering a better performing CPU or a change in operating systems.
Or we could be looking at yet another in a long line of “patents that could.”
