Kia ad for 2014 FIFA World Cup is all sorts of visual deliciousness

Because supermodels and cars go together like peanut butter and jelly, or milk and Oreos, this new ad for Kia Optima uses the same ol’ recipe for success but to still thrilling results. The recipe may be old, but having Adriana Lima in an ad always counts for extra points. Or the lot of them.

Kia is the official partner of the 2014 FIFA World Cup and, while this could have been just another car ad of the kind we’ve seen done over and over again, it also serves to show viewers the difference between football and futbol.

You could even describe it as educational, if you want.

Americans consider football their own brand of the sports, which has also come to be known as American football. For the rest of the world, football is soccer. Lima is from Brazil, a country whose team has always performed spectacularly in this sport, so she’s perhaps the best teacher you could ask for. Also, hot.

With her long legs (made even longer by a pair of killer black stilettos), her gorgeous eyes, her incredible figure (made to look even more incredible by a tiny little black dress), Lima gets out of a Kia to tell a group of football players (of the American kind) just what she considers “football.”

She’s oozing grace and exoticness and, even if I can’t help but wonder how she manages to walk with those heels on the grass, she seems convincing in her role as saucy “teacher.” The players too appear convinced of it by the end of the ad.

“Adriana Lima and Kia want us all to put down the football and pick up a futbol,” the official description of the ad reads. Well, if Adriana wants that, what choice is there but to obey?
