And all this because panel makers have been adjusting inventories for months

Before you go off in a bout of hysterics, let me assure you that I'm not here to tell you that there will be no LCD TVs, monitors, or other screens left in a month.

Although that would spark a serious surge in demand, thus fixing the problem I am about to talk of.

Basically, demand for LCDs has been rather stale, especially in the third quarter of 2013.

Thus, panel makers have been adjusting inventories downward for, like, 4 or 5 months now.

At this point, there is only about a month's worth of inventory left, or less in some cases.

Fortunately, it's unlikely that an LCD apocalypse will strike, so we don't have to worry overmuch.

That said, because of the adjusted inventories, TV, PC, and notebook makers won't be able to negotiate lower prices very easily.
