On July 11, Nokia is expected to make official its first Windows Phone 8 device to sport a 41-megapixel photo snapper, namely the Nokia Lumia 1020, which had been previously spotted online under the name of Nokia EOS, and there are less than 24 hours left until the launch event kicks off.

Teased under the tag line Zoom Reinvented, the event should open the road to new experiences in photo and video showing on smartphones, provided that previous rumors on the matter pan out.

Lumia 1020 was said to arrive on shelves not only with a huge camera sensor on the back, but also with software that would allow users to get the most out of it, in addition to other new features.

Nokia will begin said Lumia 1020 launch event in New York City at 11am ET on Thursday, July 11, and will also stream it live, so that more people could learn what the hotly anticipated device has to offer, as a post on Nokia Conversations reads. Stay tuned for updates on this.
