The LP-type guitars are one of the most recognized shapes in the world of sounds. Together with the Fender Stratocaster, the Gibson Les Paul is one of the most common images associated with music generally, not jazz or rock. Wherever there is a guitar design needed, the chances of it being a Les Paul are simply huge. Why? Because Les Paul's guitar has made history and it is history deep in its own self.

Designed back in the 50's, the future landmark of all guitarists was the creation of an exceptional individual, Les Paul, born Lester William Polfuss. Jazz guitarist and tech innovator, Les and Gibson have designed one of the best-sounding, most enduring and most recognized guitars of all time, a true (beyond any doubt) milestone in the development of the 20th century's music of all genres.

Rob Warmowski of GearWire has interviewed Les Paul who even now, at 92, Les plays some jazz in Manhattan clubs. I'll keep you on the news with new parts of this very interesting interview as you'll definitely acclaim the "inside" info Les himself will make official as there is a lot of data which was only rumored and just now clearly explained by Les Paul.

For example, you'll get to know the true history of the historical Gibson SG model as it really was: not a shade of fight between Les and Gibson but Les's decision not to offer anything more until his divorce was through and his former wife settled with demands! Gibson and Les Paul decided to stop selling the Les-signed guitars for the moment and Les has designed another axe (the SG) for Gibson to sell... Such info and much more, in the Rob Warmowski (GearWire) and the living electric guitar legend, Les Paul, here.
