14 DAY TRIAL // The World Wide Developers Conference came and went, as did the Leopard keynote, and even though the Top Secret features were not as revolutionary as some expected, Leopard is still looking like it will be a massive success.
Judging by the number of pre-orders that Amazon has been receiving for the upcoming operating system, people really liked what they saw. Leopard taking the top spot in both the software and the operating system rankings, which are updated hourly, shows that even if pundits and technology experts were unimpressed with the new features, the customer definitely was.

Also worthy of note is the fact that copies of XP are selling better than copies of Vista, when the customer is actually given a choice. Considering that Vista comes on the majority of PCs sold today, these people buying XP are likely to be doing so to replace the Vista that their computer already has. Microsoft may have sold many copies of Vista in its first 100 days, but how many of those were actually coupons from those legendary "Vista Ready" PCs, how many were bundled with new hardware, and how many were actually bought by customers who wanted them?
If Apple did copy Microsoft's Vista with Leopard, it appears that they did a better job of it than the other way around, which is rather embarrassing considering that the people in Redmond have been perfecting this art for many years.
