15 people are now in need of medical attention following their being attacked by a wild leopard. The incident occurred in the Gothatar suburb in Kathmandu, Nepal this past Wednesday.

Information shared with the public says that the leopard merely showed up on the streets of this suburb and began attacking the people it happened to come across.

Despite the fact that police officers were immediately called in, it took a while before the animal was cornered and killed.

While running rampant through the suburb, the big cat managed to savage a total of 15 people. 12 of them are ordinary folks, while the remainder 3 are police officers, Daily Mail says.

All of them were rushed to the Mother Land Hospital, Pepsicola shortly after having been bitten, and doctors made sure that their injuries were properly dealt with.

None of the people who got bitten by this leopard has thus far died, the same source informs us.

As was to be expected, the big cat's attack caused quite a stir amongst those inhabiting the Gothatar suburb. Thus, pictures made available in the video below show people trying to flee from the animal's path.

What some might find a tad disturbing is the fact that, after the leopard was killed by armed officers, the mob felt the need to stamp on and even kick its body.

Furthermore, the leopard's body was carried through the streets of the Gothatar suburb, this being the mob's way of taking revenge on the animal.

Several green-oriented organizations have thus far warned that, as human society continues to infringe on the natural habitats of wild animals, such run-ins between people and predators are bound to become a thing of the day.
