Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio is in negotiations with Warner Bros to star in the thriller "The Blood Diamond," an African adventure set in Sierra Leone around 1999, a period when the region was in the midst of a civil war.

DiCaprio will play a juggler specialized in blood diamonds, stones used to finance rebellions, privateers and terrorists.

DiCaprio is currently shooting for The Departed, directed by Martin Scorcese. The Blood Diamond would reportedly shoot early next year.

Leonardo DiCaprio was wounded last week, by an angry woman, with a broken bottle of beer and it is expected to go under plastic surgery.
