14 DAY TRIAL // Two of the most gorgeous people on the planet (or at least in showbiz) are single again: actor Leonardo DiCaprio has split from his girlfriend Bar Refaeli, model for Victoria’s Secret. Reports suggest that the relationship simply ran its course.
Though he’s one of the few stars to value his privacy so much to actually go out of his way at all times to prevent that details from his personal life end up in the tabloids, DiCaprio’s romance with Bar was never a secret.
The two dated for 4 years and went on a break in 2009. Six months later, they started going out again, and they were an item until last week, when they called it quits, PageSix reports.
Infidelity had nothing to do with the split and was most likely not even an issue with the two, sources who claim to be close to the couple say for the e-zine.
Instead, Bar and Leo realized that their relationship wasn’t going anywhere anymore, that it had run its course and that they were not ready for a more serious commitment for the time being.
After a “rough patch,” the two sat down and talked, and eventually decided it was best if they went their separate ways.
“It was amicable, they’re still friends and they are still talking. They just grew apart and went their separate ways,” says one of the aforementioned insiders about the split.
No third party was involved in the split, the spy insists.
“Neither were ready to settle down, and both have busy careers that have been taking them in different directions,” another source says.
“Rumors of an impending split began when DiCaprio had a boys' weekend with Bradley Cooper and Ryan Kavanaugh in Mexico last month. DiCaprio and Refaeli were then seen going in opposite directions at separate events around New York the night of Anna Wintour’s Met Ball on May 2 – he hit the Standard Hotel and she partied at the Crown,” PageSix adds.
Both Leo and Bar’s reps were contacted for comment on reports of their breakup, but neither was willing to comment on it.
