14 DAY TRIAL // Leonardo DiCaprio loves to date supermodels, having not been seen in the company of a woman who wasn’t a model for several years now. We’re talking about love interests, of course, not just women he hangs out with casually.
This is what makes this new report so surprising: according to Life & Style magazine, at the recent Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary, SNL 40 for short, he put the moves on Dakota Johnson, star of the now-infamous “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie.
A budding romance
According to eyewitnesses at the afterparty, which took place at The Plaza Hotel, the moment Leo saw Dakota, he made a move towards her and started dropping pickup lines in the hope that something would stick. Something did stick, the report claims.
“He put his arm around Dakota and led her into the grand ballroom. He told her, ‘Let’s go look at all the celebrities.’ Dakota looked like she was trying to play it cool, but you could tell she was thrilled to have his attention,” says the spy.
Apparently, “out of everyone he socialized with, Leo seemed to be the happiest when he was with Dakota. As they walked away, Leo took the lead and guided her through the crowd, and a small smile spread across her face.”
The report doesn’t say more than this, but the implication is there: the two left the party together and spent the night at Leo’s place. They might still be dating for all we know. They could be the hottest couple in showbiz right now.
Single Leo is a babe magnet
Obviously, there’s a very good chance nothing about this report is accurate or even that it was planted by Johnson’s publicist or a Universal insider as a means to boost attention in her and thus boost ticket sales for her movie even more.
After all, fauxmances aren’t new in Hollywood.
DiCaprio has been a real babe magnet in recent months, if we’re to judge by the stuff written about his love life in the glossies and the tabloids. No matter how hard he tries to keep a low profile - and his name out of the papers -, it’s as if the more he tries, the more attention he gets.
Just recently, he was linked to pop star Rihanna, with insiders claiming they’d been hooking up for the better part of 2 years. It was never meant to be something serious, though.
Rihanna was the first celebrity DiCaprio has been romantically linked to in years, and while she’s not a model, she definitely has the body of one. She could probably get an Angel job too, at Victoria’s Secret, which is Leo’s favorite agency for “girlfriend scouting.”
We’ll see if anything comes out of this Dakota rumor.
