As we were reporting yesterday, Leonardo DiCaprio was injured at a Hollywood party given by Paris Hilton's ex-boyfriend, by an angry woman. Leonardo was smashed into face with a broken beer bottle. According to witness, a guest said "My God, she has slashed open his face."

DiCaprio was taken to to the nearby Cedars-Sinai hospital where he had twelve stitches for the wound to his face and neck. According to medical experts, the actor could have been killed if the broken bottle had damaged the main artery in the side of the neck - the carotid artery.

"The attacker struck him with a glass object before being restrained by witnesses. The woman was reportedly looking for an ex-boyfriend whom she had apparently physically assaulted on prior occasions," DiCaprio's publicist, Ken Sunshine declared.

"It was a totally unprovoked attack. Leo was behaving himself and this woman just attacked him for no reason," a source close to the star said.
