The trouble with great book and great movies is that once they finish, they leave a gaping hole in your life. This is the trouble that Leonardo DiCaprio is currently finding out for himself.

The actor invested so much into his portrayal of Wall Street broker Jordan Belfort that he can't seem to find another project to stimulate him as much.

Leonardo has just picked up a Golden Globe for his performance in the movie and looks ready to take on the Oscars next month.

But for all that hype, this project has raised the bar so much, it's proving very tricky to follow it through with something else. After putting his entire life on hold to complete the film, DiCaprio said that “I haven't been able to work since.”

In his acceptance speech at the Globes, DiCaprio made sure to thank director Martin Scorsese for making this film and giving him the opportunity to star in it.

Though it was blasted as too graphic by some critics and even members of the Academy, Leo stood by the director, defending his vision by saying that “this level of hedonism, this world needs to be portrayed authentically.” He was joined in his point of view by co-star Jonah Hill, who also spoke up for the director.

If you're thinking that a new project for the “The Great Gatsby” actor will involve yet again director Martin Scorsese, you might be mistaking. The legendary filmmaker has recently announced that his days behind the camera are soon coming to an end.

At least, for all that effort, Leonardo has something to show for it. This marks the second time he's won a Golden Globe, after his 2004 win with his role in “The Aviator.” He remains a virgin as far as the Oscars go, but this year might actually see him take a prize home.
