Lenovo, a leading PC maker that is mostly recognized for its line of business-focused ThinkPad portable computer systems, is expected to announce a couple of new models, including the world's first netbook to be powered by NVIDIA's Ion platform. In addition to this upcoming netbook, the Chinese PC maker will also announce a new CULV-based IdeaPad laptop and a 20-inch all-in-one desktop. These new systems will be part of the company's lineup for the summer and fall shopping season.

According to a recent Cnet report, Lenovo is about to announce a new line of portable computer systems, also including a new all-in-one PC. One of the most anticipated products of the new lineup is a refresh of the company's IdeaPad S-series, dubbed S12, which has been designed to take advantage of NVIDIA's Ion platform and provide users with an optimum combination of performance and ultraportability. Additionally, Lenovo is also launching the IdeaPad U350, which will mark the company's debut in the market for CULV-based PCs, featuring an ultra-thin design and low-power requirements.

The first Ion netbook, although Lenovo isn't necessarily calling it that, combines NVIDIA’s chipset with Intel's very successful Atom N270 processor, running at 1.6GHz. The system comes with a 12-inch display and features a full-sized keyboard, taking this portable PC to the border between a netbook and an ultraportable laptop. No word on pricing, for the time being, but you should expect a netbook-like system that is capable of delivering support for HD movies and mainstream gaming applications.

With the IdeaPad U350, Lenovo also gets on the CULV bandwagon and will be ready to take on MSI's X-Slim series and Acer's Timeline laptops. The system is designed to provide better battery life and will be available at a street price of US$649. In addition, users should also expect a new 20-inch IdeaCentre C330 all-in-one desktop, coming with a street price tag of US$449.
