Lenovo has announced its Y410 Snowmountain design, a season version of its previous Y410 AUDIO DJ Series. The notebook is enclosed in a pure white casing and features what the producer
calls the '8000 vertical state of mind,' pictured on the top lid. These are the 5 world's 5 highest summits: Makalu, Lhotse, Kanchenjunga, K2, and Chomolungma, with altitudes of over 8000 m.

The Y410 Snowmountain design notebook comes with the AUDIO DJ capability, which lets users play music even when the notebook is turned off. The laptop's audio panel is encased outside the top cover while the slot-in optical disk drive ODD is situated at the side panel. Furthermore, the notebook comes with Easy Capture, a multimedia software application that allows the user to edit images, while the Power to Go software takes care of reading and recording data.

The notebook is designed for the multimedia users, and the laptop's front side sports Dolby Home Theatre speakers, an integrated microphone for playing and recording audio, as well as a built-in webcam to be used with messenger and voice-over-IP applications.

The laptop shares the same technical specifications with the older Y410 Audio DJ, built around an Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 processor running at 1.8 GHz. The 14.1-inch WXWGA + LCD display is powered by Intel's GMA X3100 graphics hardware. The notebook sports 1GB of RAM and 120 GB of hard-drive storage space. The notebook's connectivity options include 3 X USB2.0; FireWire; RJ11 (modem); RJ45 (Ethernet); VGA out; S-video out, a SD, MMC, MS and MS Pro card reader, 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g wireless LAN.

The Lenovo 3000 Y410 comes with biometric security features, such as face recognition technology that, when paired with appropriate software, can authenticate immediately the legitimate user. The notebook has built-in restore capabilities, that allows the user to revert the notebook's settings to the last restore point with the press of a single button.
