Sources from the supply chain believe it will still lag behind HP though

It is only the second month of 2013, but already analysts and other market watchers have made an idea of what the IT industry will look like at the end of the first quarter.

Lenovo's name is once again surfacing on the PC front.

While Digitimes' sources from the supply chain still think HP will do best for the whole year, Lenovo will lead the notebook segment for the January-March period.

HP, Toshiba, Dell and Acer will suffer a drop of 15-20% for various reasons, while Lenovo will not.

Still, HP will make up for it in the rest of the year, eventually reaching 35 million, more than the 32 million of 2012.

Lenovo will, meanwhile, manage 30-31 million laptops.

Overall, analysts continue to be divided on whether or not HP is ahead of Lenovo on the global PC market or not.
