Chinese mobile phone maker Lenovo is reportedly planning an expansion to the European market as soon as the next year, in Germany.

Apparently, the company is already looking into setting up a distribution network in the country, and will begin selling its smartphones here sooner rather than later.

Lenovo is already selling products in the country, but its smartphones are not available there as of now, and it needs to sign partnerships with carriers to ensure success of its phones.

At the moment, the Chinese vendor is the fourth largest smartphone vendor in the world, with a growth of 78 percent year-on-year, a recent article on mobileworldlive notes.

The company is selling devices mainly in China and other Asian countries, including emerging markets such as India. Its portfolio consists mainly of Android-based smartphones.
