Lenovo is looking to make an impact on the smart glass market

Google has the Glass, but the company’s curious concoction doesn't really have any competitors on the market.

But this will soon change, as other major tech players are looking to make an entry in this sector. You probably remember we told you that Samsung was working towards bringing such a product to the market, and as GizChina reports, Lenovo has now been spotted showing off its own pair of smart glasses in Beijing.

The smart glasses are called M100 and will be sold for the chunky price of $1,300 / €966, so if you’re hoping to find a cheaper alternative to the Glass, this is not the place to look for that.  The device comes with a 5MP camera, 12GB of integrated storage, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Keeping the device going is an 800mAh battery which can offer a full day life when synced to the smartphone.

Lenovo will roll out the first developer kits starting July 31, and it will be pretty interesting to see the adjoining apps the smart glasses are going to get.

Sadly, looking at the photo detailing the smart glasses reveals the device is quite awkward and it seems Lenovo hasn't worked towards finessing the Google Glass-like design.

More than that, it appears the “smart” part of the unit can be attached to a pair of regular glasses, but we’re not given any specifics in this respect. What do think, do you see yourself wearing such a device?
