The Lenovo A6000 is a handset for the masses

At CES 2015, Lenovo unveiled the Vibe X2 Pro, a handset that continues its multi-layer design pattern, and the P90 smartphone. Both are models which feature pretty high-end specifications, so they will go on sale with pretty hefty price tags.

But Lenovo also has another model for you, one that won’t break your piggy bank account. The A6000 is an entry-level handset that will not blow anyone’s mind anytime soon (as seen at Giz Bot).

However, the handset is a decent product with good-enough specifications for daily use. The A6000 seems to be the international version of Lenovo’s K3 Music Lemon, which launched in China last month.

The device takes advantage of a 5-inch display with the 720p resolution and draws life from a 65-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, which turns out to be a really decent choice for a budget smartphone such as this.

In the photography department, the A6000 dons an 8MP main snapper with LED flash and a 2MP shooter on the back. On top of that, it has dual speakers, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage which luckily can be expanded via microSD card.

The handset runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, but since it relies on a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor on the inside, we can be pretty confident that at some point the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be made available.

We just don’t know exactly when and Lenovo hasn’t said anything about the matter yet.

The A6000 measures 141 x 70 x 8.2 mm / 5.7 x 2.7 x 0.33 inches and breaks the scale at 128g / 0.28 lbs, which makes for a very portable device. Keeping everything up and running on board is a 2300 mAh battery which can be swapped out (you can’t do the same with the Lenovo Vibe X2), just like the device’s back plate.

The A6000 will go on sale shortly, but we currently don’t have details on the availability or pricing options.
