Basically, you can turn any metal object into a pen

Back in October, Lenovo introduced its Windows-powered spin-off of its popular Yoga tablet bunch, you know the ones that come with a hinge design and are capable of maintaining themselves in the upright position.

Now Lenovo has brought this particular Yoga tablet at CES 2015 and added something pretty sweet to it, to make it even more appealing.

There aren't a lot of Windows-based tablets out there that come with smart pen functionality and the ones that do have been plagued by numerous issues.

Remember a lot of Dell Venue 8 Pro, 11 Pro and ASUS VivoTab Note 8’s owners complained their styluses had stopped working out of blue.

One thing’s for sure, customers love pen-enhanced tablets and Lenovo has noticed the predilection. That’s why since it launched the Windows-based Yoga tablet, the company has been developing a new feature for it – called AnyPen.

What’s cool about this particular piece of technology is that AnyPen basically lets you use any utensil you have lying around the house on your tablet.

That’s right, you can go ahead and pick up an ordinary pen / pencil or even a screwdriver, scissors or a fork (anything with a pointy pen really).

Basically, Lenovo was able to take a tablet that didn't previously take advantage of pen input and make it compatible with any sharp pointy object you have lying around the house.

The new Yoga model will go on sale next month for $299 / €250, which is $20 / €17 extra than the original Yoga model.

The Yoga tablet was launched in 8-inch, 10-inch and 13-inch variations boasting full HD resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels) and bundling an Intel Atom Z3745 quad-core Bay Trail processor fitted with either 16GB or 32GB of internals storage.

However, Lenovo offers only the 8-inch model with AnyPen onboard. The manufacturer doesn't mention anything about the tablet having Gorilla Glass protection, therefore a fork might end up scratching the screen pretty badly.
