Lenovo will launch new Yoga tablets soon

It’s no secret that Lenovo is cooking up a big moment revolving its iconic Yoga tablet, which will probably take place in a few days.

Yesterday, we got a first look at the company’s brand new, shiny Windows-powered Yoga tablets, and today we get the same treatment for the Android bunch.

We talked about Lenovo’s business-orientated Yoga 2 Pro 13 slate, but the device maker is also prepping 8-inch and 10.1-inch models. And today the first images detailing the smallest in the bunch plus a few extra more of the 13-incher have surfaced online.

Lenovo Yoga 2 8.0

The new tablet maintains the characteristic hinge design we have become accustomed to seeing with the Yoga line, which allows the tablet to sit upright on a flat surface by virtue of a pop up kickstand.

The tablet offers 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and is expected to sport a quad-core Intel Bay Trail Z3745 processor fitted with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

There are two cameras onboard (an 8MP one on the back and a 1.6MP one in the front), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI out and a 6400 mAh battery. Knowing the Yoga bunch, we can expect the slate to offer a long battery life, probably more than 10 hours. The tab is said to weigh just 400 g / 0.88 lbs and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

Apparently, the same configuration will be added in the Windows 8.1 model, as well. And according to Tab Tech, the Android model will go on sale October 23 with a price tag of €229 / $289.

Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro 13.3

We have seen the specs of this tablet leak out before, but the current report changes them a little bit. The 13.3-incher is supposed to offer higher 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and to draw power from an quad-core Intel Bay Trail Z3745 processor (no Broadwell sorry) fitted with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (which is expandable).

Since the tablet is a bit larger, it will weigh more, breaking the scales at 900 g / 1.9 lbs. The tab relies on a huge 9,600 mAh battery which should ensure users get a more than sufficient life-span for their slate.

Like the smaller model, the Yoga 2 Pro should ship out with Android 4.4 out of the box. A Windows-based counterpart with Black finish instead of Silver is also planned.

The business tablet should start selling October 23 for €499 / $629 a pop.
