Lenovo is expanding its Yoga portfolio with new models

Last year, Lenovo announced its new set of Android-based Yoga tablets with bells and whistles. It brought in celebrity Product Engineer Ashton Kutcher to present the devices, which have a particularity – they can sit themselves up by virtue of a hinge design with a small kickstand built into it.

These tablets usually offer a long, hefty battery life and have been quite popular with consumers so far. And now the company is expected to hold an event on October 9, which will mostly concentrate on new Yoga tablets.

New Yoga tablets are coming in a few days

We already told you about the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro 13, which arrives with a 13-inch FHD display and takes advantage of an Intel Bay Trail processor, but apparently that’s not all we’re going to see come out of Lenovo on that date.

The folks over at the Italian HD Blog publication managed to stumble upon an interesting piece of information. Apparently, the company will soon release the Windows-based version of the Lenovo Yoga tablet, something we're pretty sure lots of you are going to get excited about.

They even got a hold of a few images of the upcoming product and you can see Lenovo has changed the silver finish it has used in its Android line and substituted it with a sleek black one.

Other than that, the Windows version seems unchanged, taking advantage of the same ergonomic characteristic of the Yoga line.

The position of the ports, including, HDMI, microUSB, headphone jack, front speakers, two cameras, also appears to have undergone no modification.

According to the leaked information, the new Yoga 2 line is going to be offered with 8-, 10- and 13-inch form factors, so you’ll have plenty of options to choose from.

Most specs of the upcoming Yogas have not been revealed

We are not given a lot of information about what the actual specs are going to be, but we can assume they are going to take advantage of at least full HD resolution.

In the computing department, we could assume Lenovo will use the usual Intel Bay Trail architecture, but maybe we’re in for a nice surprise like the Intel Core M instead.

The “Yoga” brand is not only used to designate the Android family of tablets, but was extended by Lenovo to include a line of convertible Ultrabooks that arrives with a hinge system that allows users to fold the display back so it lays back to back with the keyboard.

However, these products tend to be quite expensive and we expect the new Windows-based Yoga 2 devices to be more affordable. We’ll certainly know what the case is in a few days.
